Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say. ~JRR Tolkien

Freezing my face off
Before they gave me the IV they made me breath some sort of gas. It felt like I was being squeezed to death. My arms and legs were really heavy and my throat was burning. It was so weird. As always when you are in an odd situation with things covering your face, the lovely ladies in the room try to have a conversation with you. Seriously. I was basically high on some anesthetic and they are asking where I went to school, what I'm majoring in, and how many siblings I have. Really? I know you're going to stab me with that huge needle, just do it already! :) So, the last thing I remember was freaking out about the IV in my arm.
I don't remember much. I woke up, asked for chapstick, then I was in the van at a drive through window, then there was a milkshake in my hand, then I was at home running into the house to puke in the sink. :P
And since then I've been laying around the house with the funky ice pack thing around my head.
I'm supposed to be going on a trip this weekend. Woohoo for fat cheeks and the possibility of dry socket.
yah. Who's genius idea was this? "Lets make people spend tons of money on braces, and then tell them if they want to keep their nice smile they have to pay for surgery to extract teeth they don't have room for. Oh, and I almost forgot the best part. Let's make sure they don't do this until they are almost an adult. It's much more humiliating."
Whatever.
To those of you who haven't had them pulled yet: hehehe just you wait. :)

Manderley
So, this week I read Rebecca for my lit. class. Daphne du Maurier knew how to write. It took me a while to get into it because I new the story, but when I got to the night of the Manderley ball....Ah! I flew through it. :) I didn't really realize how amazingly creepy it was.
"She was in the house still as Mrs. Danvers said, she was in that room in the west wing, she was in the library, in the morning-room, in the gallery above the hall. And in the garden, and in the woods, and down in the stone cottage on the beach. her footsteps sounded in the corridors, her scent lingered on the stairs. The servants obeyed her orders still, the food we ate was the food she liked. Her clothes were in the wardrobes in her room, her brushes were on the table, her shoes beneath the chair, her nightdress on the bed. Rebecca was still mistress of Manderley. Rebecca was still Mrs. de Winter,"
Really. Creepy. This begins my favorite part of the story. All seems lost, then the truth is revealed and Mrs. de Winter finally stands up to Mrs. Danvers. "I am Mrs. de Winter now, you know." haha! Triumph. :)
Anyway, I wish Manderley was a real place. It sounds so beautiful. A gorgeous mansion surrounded by wild forests and flowers. Not to mention, a breathtaking view of the ocean, and a beach house. :)
It was quite an enjoyable assignment. I would definitely suggest reading it!

So, this week has been great. Its been pretty quiet around here and school is winding down. yay. Wednesday night I went to the Blend with Ellie, Wendi, Brooke, and Kristen. It was like old times, except Ellie was talking about Troy. :)
And I'm still frantically looking for a job (or not so frantically ;) hehe)
That's about it...

Change
Today we all sat up front in church and tried to stay calm while the announcements were read. So, now its official, Ellie is moving away in three months.
Anyway, so this afternoon I was bored and I was looking though all my pictures to find some for the scrapbook page. (oh yay!) And I found a few fun ones Aw.... we had some great times. :)
These next few months are going to be packed full of crazy fun. I'll get over my selfish "poor me" attitude eventually so don't feel bad for me. And, I'm moving down to U of I this fall anyway...things will change...but I still don't like it ;)
