Farewell January

I do not miss you.

January was a rough month.

It was filled with doctors visits, nurses calls, breathing treatments, and lots and lots of sitting at home, Gideon is still sick. The doctor diagnosed him with Bronchiolitis-  a really bad cold with wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath.   He'd get coughing fits so bad he'd choke and puke. And, since he wasn't feeling good, he'd cry any time I put him down. Crying would make him cough. Coughing led to more wheezing, trouble breathing, puking, and more breathing treatments.
Bronchiolitis is viral so there is no medication for it. So, the doctors kept sending me home with "just keep doing what your doing." Not very encouraging when you are completely exhausted.   About 6 weeks in, the doctor told me that he's seen this last 12 weeks. We are now 8 weeks down.  So, I pretty much spent all of January home bound, on the brink of a break down.

Thankfully, he seems to be on the mend. He's still pretty congested, but it's so much better than it was.

We broke my self-imposed quarantine on Sunday and went back to church. It was so nice to get out of the house.

Gideon is now 3 months old!
hehe

such a sweet little boy

It's becoming more difficult to take his picture. He's constantly moving. :)

despite being sick, he's still got chubby legs :)
and tiny little feet. hehe.

He is such a good little boy.  He sat so patiently during his breathing treatments,

trying to eat the nebulizer

Now that he's getting better, I let him lay on his back more, Which he loves! He's so sick of his swing.
talking to the pictures :)

fresh and clean

Gideon has also started to get bored.  We finally got him a play mat. He loves it and now he's occupied and happy long enough for me to actually do stuff!

We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It's a great feeling,

Gideon has been sleeping in his swing, to help with drainage, since January. We finally put him back in his crib. He's so happy, he wakes us up cooing.:)
cashed out

Even while he's been sick, this kid is totally spoiling me.  He consistently sleeps a six hour and a three hour stretch each night. Somehow, I'm still tired though. ;)

And, that was January.

I can't wait until summer...

In Christ,
~Michelle
