And, time flies with two kids.
So, other than Aurelia, what have we been up to...
Before Aurelia made her appearance... we got the house fall-itized.
We got a lot of visitors after Aurelia's birth.
Kendra and her kids got to meet her.
My dad finally got out of the field long enough to meet her.
We went to the farm one day. Jenny and the girls were going to be there, so we headed over to introduce Aurelia.
Troy stopped by.
Aurelia is adorable. Of course.
Gideon is doing pretty good. He was a little fragile for the first few days. But now he mostly ignores her. But, he loves her dearly. He calls her 'miss girlie' or 'rayla' most of the time.
He's still his ornery little self.
Both kids were napping at the same time one day:
At her two week appointment, Aurelia checked out perfectly. She's up to 20 inches long and 7 lbs 3 oz.
Gideon turned two!
Our little buster is now two. He's a little barrel of energy and excitement. His memory and imagination are incredible. He loves books and the things he remembers and memorizes from them is amazing. He loves to sing. So, if he's not running around shrieking, playing with tractors, or telling you about a book, he's probably singing some song nearly word for word. He's still sleeping terribly, up at least once a night, and keeps me very busy. But, my goodness if he isn't the cutest most loveable little ray of sunshine ever. :)
He got a construction cake for his birthday. I tried to make it a little cooler, but it flopped, so a 9 x13 had to do.
We had his birthday party at the farm.
This girly girl got her first bath...
We spent another day at the farm. Nathan has been studying for the Professional Engineering exam. So, pretty much every evening and Saturday for the past two months were taken up with him studying. We found it was way better for all involved if I got the kids out of the house. So, we spent a LOT of time at the farm. He took the test on Friday, so hopefully things will calm down a bit for a while. We won't know the results for a few weeks still.
Anyway, we spent a Saturday at the farm.
Last Sunday, we went over to Matt and Lena's for a wiener roast. It was chilly but fun.
We got out to do a little bit of yard work this week. Gideon loves the leaves.
In another effort to get out of the way for Nathan to study, we spent a long time at the field one afternoon.
Gideon got to ride in the tractor with my dad and the combine with my mom. It was a very exciting day for a little boy.
Everyone asks who she looks like so I made this the other day...
With all the time at the farm I've nearly finished Aurelia's quilt.
And now that Nathan is not tied to studying, we finally got out on a walk again.
Aurelia wore her first dress to church today. And, she smiled a real smile at me for the first time!

One day we decided to get out of the house, so we went up town to visit Grandma, Grandpa, and Pearl.
They couldn't get over how tiny she was :)

quite the outfit going on...
Gideon has always been a softy. When he was a baby, if he heard other babies crying he would start sobbing. Well, the other day I was listening to a song ('You can always come home to me' by Andrew Peterson).
I was singing along, and Gideon started crying. He climbed on to my lap and made me listen to it about 5 times in a row. :( He loves it now and we sing it together to Aurelia.

People from church have been bringing us meals. It has been wonderful. But, I think they are trying to fatten us up. The supply of desserts seems to be never ending.

Whew. Anyway. There's our day to day. Aurelia's been a pretty good baby but still she's a newborn, so our days are mostly busy with nothingness (nursing, burping, changing, nursing some more...). Gideon is doing great with her, but when I'm mostly tied to the couch, he's pretty bored and antsy.
I'm hoping for a few more abnormally warm days so we can play outside some more.
