At the end of August into September we went on a vacation to Colorado.
We were able to use points to fly, so that was fun. The kids loved the airplanes and did great.

We took an easy hike to Adams Falls
Cheeeese
And then we attempted to hike Monarch Lake. It was rainy and very chilly. So we decided to try again another day.
One morning we drove to Georgetown and took a little train ride.
They started out pretty nervous
They warmed up...
All this boy wanted to do was climb rocks
hehehe
We went in to the Rocky Mountain National Park a few days. We took the Coyote Valley trail. It was a beautiful flat little hike. We decided to turn around early though... Later to find out that at the end of the trail there was a herd of Elk. Sigh.

I could spend all day sitting by a waterfall
We spent a few nights at Troy and Ellie's. It was so great to be together with them again. Ellie and the boys joined us on a hike one morning. We went back to Monarch lake and had much better weather to finish the whole thing. :)

Gideon and Aurelia did so good hiking. They had more energy than I could ever imagine.
views like these...
And then we said goodbye and flew back to Indiana.
We had a wonderful trip. The kids loved the mountains and did great hiking. They still talk about the mountains, so I think it was a success. :)
